Girls varsity Swimming and Diving

The varsity season runs from August 12th - November 23rd.  The girls varsity swim team is coached by Emily Welling.   Luke Lathrop is our diving coach.   Practices are held Monday - Friday from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in our main pool.  

Meet Our Seniors

Ally Pratt

Ally has been a varsity swimmer for 4 years and has swum competitively for 10 years.   Ally is a breaststroker.   Ally found her love of swimming in the Tiger Shark Swim Club here at the Charlotte Aquatic Center.    This year Ally will be coaching the Tiger Sharks after her competitive season is complete.  Best of luck this year Ally.   After high school Ally plans to go to college to pursue a career in cardiac rehab.

Ella Rayne

Ella Rayne has been diving competitively for four years.  She was a MISCA qualifier last year and a two time state meet participant.  Ella came to diving after being a competitive gymnast for several years.  Diving was a great way to combine her love for the water and her abilities as a gymnast.  Coach Mike Wagner from Spartan Diving has been her coach for the last four years.   After high school Ella will continue in flight school to become an airline pilot.  

Emily Poortvliet

Emily is in her fourth year as a varsity swimmer.  She has swum competitively for eight years and has always had a love for the water.  Emily is a sprinter and backstroker for CHS.  After she graduates, Emily plans to attend college to go into the medical field.  During her free time she likes to spend time with her friends.

School Aged Children in Levels 1-5   

September 9th - Oct. 7th  Mondays and Wednesdays  $65

4:30 - 5:15 After School Lessons: This class is open to all children ages 5 and up.  You do not need to be from Charlotte.   Transportation can be provided if it is needed from Galewood, Parkview, or Washington to the Aquatic Center.   Please call our office at 517.541.5740 to make arrangements for transportation.   Please send a suit and towel to school with your child.   

5:30 - 6:15  Evening Lessons:  This class is open to all children ages 5 and up.   The instructors will level the children at the first class and make groups.  These groups are flexible and may change as skills progress.  No transportation is available for this lesson.  

October 21st - November 18th Mondays and Wednesdays $65

Water Games $20  September 30th - October 9th

Join us for organized fun in the water.  We will play games like sharks and minnows, tag, jump or dive, pool battleship and many more!  This class will be instructor led and include open swim time as well.   Students from the CUE can walk over right after school.  Please enter through door 4. 

Water games will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45 - 5:00

springboard diving lessons

Springboard Diving Lessons  $65 per person per session

Join us for springboard diving lessons. Lessons will take place at the Aquatic Center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45 - 5:15 and include both dry land time and water time.  Participants will learn front jumps in the basic straight, tuck and pike positions along with lineups and triple jumps.  There will be an introduction to hurdles as well.  Participants should wear shorts and t-shirt and bring a suit and towel.  Participants must be at least 7 years old and able to swim to the side from the diving board.

Pre-Registration is not required, but recommended.  We can only have 30 people attend our Swim In Movies.  

Swim In movies

Please bring  your own raft.  Light concessions will be available for $2 each item.   No outside food is permitted.   All movies are shown in our therapy pool.  The water temperature is 92 degrees.
